New Google Wave: The Next Big Step in Social Media Online



Google Wave, announced for the first time in June, is a unique application designed for online communications and collaboration. The software is still in beta, but Google says it will be readily available later this year. Like most other Google "inventions," the application will be open source (read "free"), and by the time it is out of beta, expect that quite a few developers will have expanded upon this technology, so it can be used for expanded purposes.

The 10-minute video above will give you a good idea of how this application can be used. It is expected to increase the communication power of online tools like Twitter and Facebook almost exponentially.

I will let readers know when the application comes out of beta and is available for general use.
