Client Profile: Bankruptcy Law Professionals of Colorado Strives for Success in a Competitive Arena
Attorney Jesse Aschenberg had a website, BkLawPro.com, and had paid someone to optimize it for the search engines. He was also using ReachLocal to manage a pay-per-click advertising campaign for him. Neither effort seemed to be especially effective in spite of the significant investment he had already made.
So, when he decided to invest in a new website, he also hired a new team to help him create a website and market his business online.
The team included Ian Serff of Serff Creative who designed the site, Jack Chapa of Jack Chapa Enterprises who did site development on the WordPress platform, and 1st Click Consulting who provided SEO direction, including all content, the navigational structure, and marketing advice. 1st Click Consulting has also developed a new pay-per-click campaign and two landing pages for the firm.
The new BkLawPro.com site went live in early August, and the new advertising campaign was launched at the end of last month. The new site features an interactive billboard that presents the firm’s two primary marketing messages:
- Bankruptcy Law Professionals of Colorado can give clients a new financial start and eliminate the stress of debt.
- Bankruptcy is a solution to home foreclosure, and Bankruptcy Law Professionals of Colorado has been successful in helping people use the bankruptcy laws to modify their mortgage payments and keep their home.
Keyword research indicated that many people are looking for advice on filing bankruptcy themselves. As a result, the third billboard message offers information for those consumers. Clicking on a link in that billboard message takes the visitor to a form at the bottom of the page. Visitors who fill out and submit the form are linked to a page on the Colorado District U.S. Bankruptcy Court’s website, which does a good job of detailing the steps involved in a bankruptcy filing and also encourages people to hire an attorney to represent them. The form includes an opt-in box to request a no-cost, no-obligation consultation with an attorney.
The WordPress platform gives the site many ways to fulfill search engine optimization needs. WordPress is best-known as a blogging platform (but makes a great web platform with content management system). The website includes an informative blog without building a separate blogging platform into the site. Aschenberg is already using the blog and integrating it with his email marketing efforts.
Although it is too soon to evaluate the effectiveness of everything that the team did, web traffic has increased 24% so far, with the number of “organic” search visitors up 36%. The site also is beginning to move up in the search rankings for a number of targeted keyword phrases. 1st Click Consulting’s efforts to build online credibility and authority for the site will begin soon, and those can be expected to further improve search engine rankings.
