My New Toy: The Kindle2

One of my Christmas presents was Amazon.com’s Kindle2. Because demand was so high, I just received my Kindle a couple of weeks ago. And, I love it!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Kindle, it is a device that allows you to read e-books downloaded wirelessly from the Amazon site. Amazon has more than 250,000 books available for download—both fiction and nonfiction. Books still in hardcover like those on the NY Times Bestsellers list usually are $9.95. Books that are now in the public domain, like many of the classics, are free. For those who like to scan a book before purchasing it, Amazon allows you to download a sample chapter free of charge.

The Kindle has lots of great features.
